HATE MAIL.

Friday, January 13th, 2012

A typically bizarre and amusing talk from the Mr Bingo. East London’s very ‘master of pens’ provides us with a talk on his Hate Mail project. (Of which I was a recipient) at the Glug Christmas party at Fabric. Apart from being an amusing talk, it’s a great way to show how one drunken random thought can lead to a whole new creative project, and in Bingo’s case, a book deal with Penguin. This is worth your time. You can see more of the HateMail project over here.

On my surfing travels, I found this really beautiful illustrator from Germany; Jörn Kaspuhl. Combining elements of portraiture and pop art, his style is gorgeously detailed and super vibrant. With his work appearing in publications ranging from the New Yorker, GQ and Forbes to Monocle and Wired, there is a good chance you have seen his stuff about. Check out some more after the jump. beardrobocop

Another blog, another project, another bit of lovely illustrated fun. Croatian illustrator Vanja Mrgan has taken popular culture icons and, well, put a beard on ‘em. And it makes me smile. More after the jump. (more…)
