I’M HERE.

So with Sundance just round the corner, buzz is already building around the Banksy documentary (over it) and of course numerous films we haven’t got a clue what they are will no doubt bubble to the surface. However in the meantime, Absolut Vodka has jumped into the fray with a 30 minute short film from Spike Jonze (You know his credit list no doubt). Entitled ‘I’m Here’, the film, a collaboration with TBWA/Chiat/Day (Absolut’s agency of record) it’s an idea that has already been done with Mother’s sponsorship of Shane Meadow’s short films for Eurostar as well as the film Somers Town,and always attracts top talent.

The choice of Spike Jonze is an inspired one. Whatever my feelings about the failings of “Where The Wild Things Are” he is a visionary and wildly playful director, and this film, ostensibly a love story with robots, looks and feels like a great story. It also helps the patronage of  Absolut (this film builds on the ‘Absolut World’ campaign established by TBWA/Chiat/Day) and their heritage of high quality art collaborations, it seems like an inspired team up.

The film is being shown at the Berlin Film Festival after it’s Sundance premier. If you aren’t in Berlin to experience it then the website is giving regular updates on where and when you can catch it.
