Der Sammler Solo Pattern

I am a massive Oki-Ni fan. They are right at the cutting edge of great menswear, and since the their move from the Saville Row boutique to a purely online presence they have bought more and more bold and obscure brands to a wider audience – one of these bold new brands is Der Sammler Solo.

The Solo is actually from Japan, (Sammler means ‘collector’ in German) and for the last couple of years has (naturally) only been available there. Each season the designer Kinjiteramoto sources dead stock vintage prints and rare collectables to form the basis of each collection. This seasons collection he has used a fantastic American flag inspired print, remixed and re-created across shirts, t-shirts, canvas bags and scarves. I love this idea, It might not be the most original thought, but it is done with such authenticity and craft that it stands out from the crowd. It’s like buying a piece of history as opposed to a fashion must have. This sense of rarity is helped that apart from it’s appearance on the site, it seems to have no other internet presence. So check out the full collection and get involved at Oki-Ni here.
