A DEAD GUNSLINGER ISN’T HAPPINESS WITHOUT BIG WHEELS.

A round-up of a few of the wonderful blogs I have found recently….

If Charlie Parker Was A Dead Gunslinger, There’d Be A Whole Lot Of Dead Copycats. is a blog of cultural and personal observations filtered through a series of rather oblique title headings, and is almost too vast to really take in in one sitting as an overwhelming visual reference guide. Essentially a pop cultural encyclopedia, from screen grabs of films (Like above: Jazz From A Summers Day [1960) to 1950’s pulp novels and bizarro record covers, it’s a treasure trove for cultural crate diggers around the world.  Another couple of websites I’ve found with equally ambigous roots are the sites from X818. It started with the randomness of  This Isn’t Happiness, carried on with the novel mashup website of Diebig (tagline; one img, one mp3, randomly) to Hot Wheels. All these websites have such a charm and openess about them, getting taken on random amazing journeys. No context = a good thing.
